Probably here and I'm not smart enough to find it but does Iscore calculate batting average using comparative plate apprearances as a variable. For example I have a player PA=16 H=5 for .333 BA. Another player PA=30 H=8 for a .296 BA. Using shear numbers it seems the player with more PAs would be at a disadvantage. A player who bats 3 for 3 for the season would be perfect which would be virtually impossible for a play who bats every game thus registers a lower average. Just want total team stats to accurately portray what the hitters who play most are doing.

Batting Average is based on At Bats, not plate appearances.

Batting Average = Hits / At Bats

I stand corrected I meant at bats when I posted thus just wasn't thinking straight. My question still applies as to accurate reporting BA when players have significantly different times at bat vs hits

The accuracy and calculation of the batting average does not change depending on the at bats. It is always mathematically accurate no matter how many at bats the players have.

You can argue over relevance of a batting average when a player has 2 at bats vs a batter with 200 at bats (i.e. the batter with 200 at bats probably more accurately reflects his true ability than a player with 2 at bats), but the math does not change.

Thanks. I wasn't questioning the accuracy of the math but you have very succinctly made my point. The average of a batter with 5 at bats is no way as accurate as your batter with 200 or even 20. I suppose it works both ways a good hitter who happens to go 0-5 would hit .000 while it would be 1.000 if he happened to go 5-5. Just trying to level the playing field when it comes to high batting average awards. I as a coach can factor in who is the best hitter regardless of Iscore averages.

I'd just set a minimum number of at bats to qualify for the batting average award. Something like 2 at bats or maybe plate appearances would be fairer per game? Say your team played 50 games during the season a player would need 100 plate appearances to qualify for any batting awards. Could do a similar thing with fielding percentage too.
