I was at a recent Nationals game (vs Cardinals) keeping score on my iPhone and when syncing the Nationals lineup before game time, all starters were listed but Denard Span (centerfielder) had a question mark next to his name, which I assume meant that the manager had listed him as questionable at the time he posted the lineup. However, when I pressed Play, only 8 players were listed in the field and the centerfield spot had a question mark. When I tried to make a substitution for the player identified as "?," I was given the choice of selecting other National players but NOT Denard Span, who in fact was starting at centerfield. I exited the scoring screen multiple times and resynced, but Denard was still listed with a "?" next to his name and when I pressed play, I encountered the same problem as before, i.e. there was no way to insert Denard Span as a substitute for the open centerfield position listed simply as a question mark. What can I do next time this happens?

Be sure you retrieve the newest player data by going to Options -> Add Ons, and selecting the Refresh option. This retrieves all of the newest player updates. If you have done this and the player is still not available, it likely means the player was added after the data feeds for that day have been processed (we process twice a day... about 5am and 10am Pacific time). If you ever have this situation, just go to Misc -> Show Starting Lineup for the team, and you can use Add Player and select the player from the list, or create a new temporary player in that position. If you have to create a new temporary player because the player is not listed, then the next day when the player does become available, you can do a post game edit to sub in the correct player.
