What did I do wrong - batting line up changed (answered)

I used iScore for the first time this weekend. Our coach had put the lineup in for our team prior to handing it over to me. He only had the batting lineup in, no defensive positions. I changed the roster (noting the lineup for the OTHER teams players). Then the game started. I realized after a few batters that our coach did not have our pitcher listed (as he didn't have any of the defensive positions put in). I clicked on our pitcher and selected the pitcher from the list. I saw that it showed I made a pitching substitution. At the bottom of the inning when our team came up to bat, I realized that our batting line up was incorrect. Do you think that when I made the pitcher change, it affected our lineup? Or do you think I did something else to have messed with our lineup. I am using V4.4 on my ipad and I could not recreate the problem. I am not sure which version my coach is using but I could find out if needed.
I just don't want this to ever happen again. I was forced to go back to paper at that time.
Thanks!

The lineup would only change by using Misc -> Show Starting Lineup and changing it there.
It sounds like there may be some confusion on the difference between a roster and lineup however. The Roster is what you edit in Team Manager for a team, and is a listing of the players / positions / default order. When you create a game, it creates a copy of the Roster as the starting lineup for the game. The two are separate things however, and changes to one will not effect the other once a game is created.
See Tip #6 at the following link in the iScore documentation:

I think I didn't choose my wording correctly. At this point I can only assume that my coach had the lineup set correctly. He had written out the lineup for me to give the other team and I only noticed that it was different when our team was up to bat. So, I need to first off confirm that he did have the lineup set correctly (I really think he probably did). But just to confirm, the substitution I made would NOT have changed the lineup, correct? I would literally have had to go into Misc -Show Starting Lineup and changed it there? I thought maybe I had just hit a button wrong when I did the substitution. I am sure I didn't go in and change it via the "misc - show starting lineup."
It may just be a mystery...lol I just hope it doesn't happen again.
Thanks so much for the link. I do need to play around more and read more about iScore before our next game.

That is correct... to change the actual starting lineup, you would have to go to Misc -> Show Starting Lineup.

Not sure what you mean by misc. button?
My lineup changes almost every game on its own. How do I change batter lineup if possible??

The Misc button is one of the main buttons on the main scoring screen. You can see a full manual at

This thread post below describes lineup changes versus substitutions. Please note that changes to a team roster via team manager after a game has already been created will not affect the lineup for that game. A team roster is used to create the lineup for each new game so changes to rosters will affect future game lineups. If your lineup is likely not to change, while scoring a game use misc-show starting lineup-copy lineup to roster and that lineup will show for future games created.
