Players added that I did not add!

Post by mattm1124 » Sat Mar 01, 2014 6:08 pm

I was looking through my player manager and there are 13 names in there that I do not know and did not add. How did they get there and why?

Thanks!

The only way players can get on your device would be to create them or to use Discover or Data Sharing to import them.

Well I know I didn't click discover or data sharing. 13 random names just showed up.

I have 31 random players on my device that I did not "Discover" or incorporate via "Data Sharing". There is not a date, player number or statistic associated with any of them. I have seen one other poster report something similiar, with similar sounding names, but they too were told that it was impossible for players to appear out of nowhere without adding them via "Discover" or "Data Share" as well. I don't know if it ever got resolved. I found some of these random guys via a Google search, listed on a site called "Fixed It! Baseball Scorebook" from 2008. Some of them show up on a results page that points to an iscore team website as well. This is definitely a bug, and it would be interesting to know why it is happening. I would love to get them off of my device, and assume that I can just delete them, but I'd like to make sure that deleting them isn't going to mess with any of my other data. Here is one of the sites where I found a couple of these names.

If you can do an Options -> Export and email the customer ID of your device to support@iscoresports.com and let us know the names of the players you did not add, we can take a look. These are the only ways players can get into the iScore database:

1. Manually entered on iScore device as part of Roster or Lineup
2. Manually entered on Admin Website and then use Options -> Import
3. If you have an MLB subscription, using the Sync option
4. Using Data Sharing to retrieve a Game or Team
5. Using Discover of a Game or Team

If you do the export and give us specific player(s) in the email, we may be able to determine which method was used.

Well, I'm a dummy... there aren't 31 players, there are 11. I just emailed the list to support. Thanks in advance for your help.
