Can I keep defensive players un-named?

My son's league uses free substitutions and defensive changes happen every inning. I would rather not figure out what changes our opponent makes in the field every inning. However, I would track defensive changes to our team.

Is it possible to not assign player names to a position with the exception of pitcher?

What I would like to end up with is knowing that our player, #25 John Smith reached base on an error by the shortstop. I don't need to know the shortstop's name. I can't tell from the videos if players are randomly assigned to a position. I would prefer to not have a player assigned to a position. Again, all I need to know is that a certain position did something that impacted our batter.

To complicate things, I would need to know the opposing pitcher is every inning and track his pitch count.

Thanks in advance for your response!

Many folks in youth ball don't track the opponents defensive positions, But do track pitchers. Iscore can handle. No worry

Yes very simple, defensive players can be unassigned (will show as a question mark on the scoring screen, just leave all the line up defenisive positions blank In game line up set up step.

If you know the starting pitchers place in their batting order, just assign them and only them to pitcher spot. Leave others blank,

If you don't know the pitchers position in the batting order you can create a genereic pitcher and have them not batting, .. Some have pitcher1 start as pitcher and not bat, and then sub in pitcher2, pitcher3, etc. as the game goes, just make them non batting in the order. And just sub them in by taping the pitcher icon when needed. Pitch counts are tracked by pitcher .. The pitcher batting is separated from the pitchers pitching stats..

You control everything, you tell iscore who is playing what position or not.

In order for Iscore to track errors, you do need to assign a player to the defense positions. Seems like you can just create dummy players named pitcher, 1B, 2B, etc and then use them for all your opponents.
