Controling hit location chart in Admin Website

Post by pmahoney » Wed Aug 14, 2013 12:48 pm

I want to print a hit location chart for our opposition going into our playoffs. The problem is that the hit chart combines last year at bats as well as this year at bats. Is there any way to create the hit location charts for only this season?

short answer no.

longer answer, I tend to create new teams year to year, North Valley Mustangs - 2013. vs North Valley Mustangs -2012. i started that habit before iscore teams had inactive players , and i guess that is one benefit. hit charts also only shows the 50 at bats i believe on a chart.

(green team - please correct me if i am wrong)

The hit charts show the most recent data on the hit chart first followed by the older data. This only comes into play when you have over the maximum number of hit locations being displayed on the chart, but it does mean this year's data would superseded last year's data.

Is there a reason you would not want the complete history of an opponent?

You would think that a complete history would be useful, and in most cases it probably is. The difference between last year and this year for our league though is 10 extra feet pitching and a switch from metal to wood bats, so I feel that there are likely changes to how the hitters are performing based on these differences. Thanks for the info though. At least I will stop trying to look for the solution now.

i often find in youth and high school ball hit tendencies can "shift" year to year. especially pre high school when pitching distances and bat rules change every year. plus of course, the time to change your swing is in off season. I have more than once see a kid go from a pull hitter to opposite field over the winter, or a late hitter to an on time hitter year to year. . another factor is coaches tend to change year to year and they can influence hitter philosophies too. .

Just added several options now when viewing Hit Locations from the Admin Website. Can filter by league(s) as well as a few other things that used to be hidden options.
