Is a dropped third strike with the batter reaching first considered an error? If it is then I see the reason that the starting pitcher had only 3 ER. It was 3-2 against us when this happened with 2 runners on base, after the dropped 3rd strike the next batter lined out to SS and the next batter was out on a fly ball to CF. This should have ended the inning and so all subsequent runs in that inning would be unearned, which is why only 3 ER charged to starting pitcher.
Now the confusing part. Subsequently in that inning the starting pitcher was replaced and the substitute pitcher allowed 3 more runs some of which were inherited runners but since the inning should have been over long before the substitution I would assume that the additional 3 runs allowed should all be unearned. The game summary shows 3 ER forsubstitute pitcher. Why?
Is there any place in the pitch by pitch where you can tell if iScore is crediting the run scored as an earned or unearned run? If not this might be a nice enhancement.

Re: Dropped third strike
A dropped third is not an "ERROR", it is a passed ball on the catcher. That being said, it IS is treated the same as an error for earned run calculations.

Re: Dropped third strike
Thanks for the answer on dropped 3rd strike. What about seeing whether iScore has a run as earned or unearned? Also why was the relief out her charged with earned runs when the inning should have been over long before she entered the game but was not because of errors.

Re: Dropped third strike
On iOS devices, the scorecard shows unearned runs as gradient filled blue boxes instead of solid blue. We have not yet added this to Android.
When a relief pitcher comes in, they are not relieved of earned runs for errors made during the previous pitcher's time on the mound. The "outs if not for error" count is reset to zero when a relief pitcher comes in.
