League selection on Player screen?

So last season for my 9U team I had multiple leagues (ie, "9U Summer League", "9U Tourney #1", etc). I'm getting ready for this season, here's what I did
- Created a new league "10U Summer League"
- Created a new team - "10U Teamname"
- Added players to the team (mostly the same players) - here's where my question is - when I pick a player to add, it shows the First/Last name, player #, and then "league" - I'm not sure what this one is for. I deselected the older leagues and just selected my new "10U" league, but what ramifications does that have? Am i supposed to do this or should I have them in ALL the leagues?
Second question (not directly related) - so far I don't see the new league in the dropdown on the team website (I see the old leagues and know they've been updated with my last export because I renamed them (I added the 9U in front of them just today and the website shows those new names). Do I have to have a scored game uploaded in order to see it in the dropdown?
Right now on the team website when I pick "Roster", I'm seeing the roster from last year (1 kid isn't playin gthis year and i see him, and there's 1 new kid that i don't see).. how/when does that get updated?
If I'm doing it the "wrong way" let me know how I should be doing it.
Thanks,
Frank

You can set the leagues a player is in. It is not used often, but if you happen to have a team website and are filtering the roster by season, you would want to make sure players are in all the leagues they played in.
To make the new league appear in the team website, check this link from our FAQ:
http://iscoresports.com/baseball/kb/faq ... howing.php
Any time you do an Options -> Export from iScore, the team website will be updated.

The new team is part of the new league, and I did an export but it's not showing up on the website.
So here's another question - Is it because I made a new "team" and the website is for the other team? It's a new year, 10U instead of 9U, but it still the same group of kids (1 new one), and my thought was the website would/could track the kids throughout their seasons?

Yes, if you made a new team, the website would not recognize the new team. You can use leagues on a single team to track a team for multiple seasons, but a team website will not work across multiple teams.
You can use the Merge function on the Team Manager page to combine the two teams you have created back into one, or you can change the team website to just pull data from the new team by following the steps here:

Thanks!
So I deleted the new team, renamed the old team to something more generic (instead of "Minutemen 9U" i just made it "Minutemen"). Exported and I see the new league as well as the league(s) from last year.
Next question: How do I handle the roster - if I remove kids from the roster, their stats no longer show up on the website for last year's games they were in, and the new kids from this year show in those leagues (but with 0 games for those leagues).

The following link from our FAQ describes how to use leagues to separate the players that play each season:

Thanks again, followed the FAQ and got it working.
Which leads me to 1 more question - for last year's team I had numerous "leagues" - each time we had a tournament I made a league for it, etc.
So now on the Team Website in the Leagues dropdown I see:
All
2013 local league
2012 local league
2012 tourney #1
2012 tourney #2
etc.
What I can't seem to do anymore is see a players stats for a "year". Before this year, I woudl select "All' and that showed me how they did for the year (local league + tourney 1 + tourney 2 + etc). However now "All" will include the 2013 league(s) which I obviously don't want. Which leaves me with having to go tourney-by-tourney for last year.. Is there some sort of higher level group/league, like a "2012 league" that has sub-leagues? If not, perhaps a future enhancement?

Just create a 2012 All league and assign all 2012 games.
Create a 2013 All League and assign all 2013 games.
Its not a one to one ratio for games and leagues. One game can be assigned to multiple leagues.
I assign 5-6 leagues per game on average.

Thanks Mark. It's quite a bit of clicking (adding each game one-by-one) but it works.
I still like the idea of supergroup (league).. Would allow quick access to things like "how did the team do in tournaments", or "how did the team do in june vs. july".

thats exactly what leagues are.
and you dont have to go into each game. go into the league and assign all the games.
so, create your 2012 ALL league, go into this league (right arrow on league list), go to games tab, select all the 2012 games.
