strike 3 brings up a screen with a swinging, called or dropped third strike option. It asks what happened to batter, and you mark first base, out, 2-3.

If swipe strike on the 3rd strike I see that it does offer the chance to tap Dropped 3rd strike and it looks like it is recorded correctly, thnx

Not necessary to swipe third strike. The screen will prompt you either way. (even for a normal swinging third strike)

How do you enter dropped third strike when 1st baseman dropped the throw from the catcher? Batter would have been out if ball was not dropped.

An error would not be assigned in this case. The batter reaches base on the dropped third or wild pitch third strike, and that is the end of the scoring. If the batter-runner advances to second base, then you could assign an error to that portion of the play.

From official MLB rules at http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/official_info/of ... rer_10.jsp

10.12 Errors
An error is a statistic charged against a fielder whose action has assisted the team on offense, as set forth in this Rule 10.12.
...
(d) The official scorer shall not charge an error against:
...
(5) any fielder when a wild pitch or passed ball is scored.
So a fielder is NOT charged with an error on a wild pitch or passed ball which is part of the requirement for the "dropped third strike" on a batter.
