Player left game

What is the best way to handle a player physically leaving the game half way through in a continuous batting order situation? I have edited starting lineup under misc to assign this player batting=no status, and it seems to handle the stats correctly, but his name was removed from the scorecard, though his at bat was displayed correctly. I have seen another instance where the name was removed from the pitch-by-pictch listing. Is "Skip Batter" a better way?

Skip Batter is the proper way to handle this. You will need to use Skip Batter each time this player comes to bat for the rest of the game. You will get the option whether to score the skipped batter as an out or not.

If he never batted, then edit starting lineup and set batting to no. If he has already batted, then misc-skip batter for all future at bats.
Edit starting lineup is saying whatever change you make is correcting to reflect what the starting lineup was when game began.

What do you suggest if a player shows up late and needs to be added in after the lineup has been turned over? Is misc-edit starting lineup-batting=yes best in this reverse situation?

Once the lineup has turned over you can not add a player. changes can only be made to the lineup before its been batted thru. Once it has been batted thru, it is set in that the number of players are locked in. changes can only be made to who occupied each spot.

Hmmm. I have done this and it seemed to work. The player was on the starting roster with batting= no and I switched him mid-game to yes when he showed up. He missed his first at bat, but was the scoring picked up with him after that. Scoring looks right...

As long as you add the player to the end of the lineup, it should work fine. You can not place the player in the middle of the starting lineup or it will shift all the at bats of other players around.

Yes, he was added to the end of the lineup. Thank you for clearing that up.
