Scoring a FC DP where all is seen on the scorecard

How can a bases loaded Fielder's Choice Double Play (say a 5-2-5) get scored so that on the scorecard you can see: 1. The 5-2-5 , 2. The Force outs at both home and third charged to the lineup number of the batter, and 3. The DP recorded and charged to the batter? Every way I try, I can either get the DP and the 5-3-5 and a force out charged to the lineup number of the batter of only one of the outs, or the force out to both outs, but, then no DP recorded. Anyone? Thanks.

You can not get both the FC and the DP to appear. The big red out text only appears on a batter when they are actually out. In your case, the batter is safe. Yes, they hit into a DP, but we can not show the big red DP on the batter's box on the scorecard because the batter is not actually out. The stats are going to be correct (batter will be charged with a GIDP, but reached on FC), but the scorecard will not show that.

If you add a note to the play, and are using iOS, the note will be printed along with the scorecard.

If I score: In Play-FC-ball position on field then 5-3-5-Runner at third out at home-DP-Runner at second out at third-DP-runner at first safe at second-advanced by batter-batter held up-- Scorecard shows force out by correct line up number batter for both outs and the batter is credited for DP, but the 5-3-5 is not to be found on the scorecard. Also, with this method the pitch by pitch record only records DP for each out and does not show how the out was made.
To see the 5-3-5 on the scorecard, you lose the attribution of the out to the lineup number of the batter.
Since the most complete data is seen on the scorecard in the first scenario, is there anywhere else that the 5-3-5 is recorded, and how the out was made, other than putting in a note?

Secondly, you mentioned that there is a record that the batter hit into a GIDP other than the scorecard. Where is that located.

Thanks very much.

The correct way to score the play is:

In Play, Fielder's Choice, (tap location), 3B-C-3B, Done
(asks what happened to runner on 3rd), Out, Home, Force Out
(asks what happened to runner on 2nd), Out, Third, Double Play
Held Up, Held Up (if advanced scoring is on and the third out wasn't made)

This scoring will ensure the correct statistics.

The GIDP is scored in stats for the batter.

Thanks for your explanation. Since the only difference in the way I scored this play was to score a DP instead of a force out for the first out, in essence scoring a DP for both runners, and in so doing credited both force outs to the batter, which shows as force outs on the score card, and credited the DP to the batter and shows the batter on base by a FC, can you explain how this scoring would adversely impact the statistics? Thanks.

We don't know that it will adversely impact the statistics scoring the way you did. We are just saying the way we would expect it to be scored. If the stats are correct the way you scored it as well (DP's being credited correctly to fielders, GIDP being credited to batter), then you should be fine.

Thanks, again, much appreciated. Are stats updated during a game, or only upon completion of the game?

You can view stats for that game at any point in the game. So, you can test your scenario and look to see its impact on stats.

Team and player stats dont roll up until the game is completed.

Thanks Mark and Admin. Well, it appears that scoring the way I did credits the batter and the fielders with 2 DP's, instead of one. This is editable in the stats, but for each DP would require editing of the batter and at least 2 fielders; clearly not functional. A shame though, since the scorecard is most accurate with scoring in this fashion. Any other thoughts? Thanks, again for the responses.
