Missed Inning-Insert Plays After

Post by sombb » Tue Oct 20, 2009 7:45 pm

Hello,

Please forgive me if this has been asked and answered, but new to iScore I've not be able to find it by search.

I arrived three innings late for a game, and want to use iScore in real time beginning with inning four. I have access to play-by-play for what I've missed and want to insert it when time allows. So here's what I've done:

1. Created a game
2. Used Misc/End Inning (6 x half innings = 3 full)
3. Used Misc/Skip Batter (7 times to get to leadoff hitter for inning four)

I have not ended the game. I have reviewed Pitch by Pitch and find entries for End Inning and Skip Batter as expected, but they can't be edited.

Am I asking the impossible? Missing an available workaround? Any help much appreciated.

The best way to handle it would be to create a new game and enter the play by play for the first 3 innings from your external source and then reenter the fourth inning forward using from the scorecard of the game you had previously scored as a guide.

Hello Again,

I read your reply with resignation, but wanted to give thought to why it is the way it is before commenting. The workaround you offered is straight forward enough, but implies that by missing a first of nine innings, some 40 plate appearances x 5 pitches = 200 entries would have to be keyed a second time. Whew. Can I be the only one who's a bit late to a start or can't give 100% attention to every pitch of every batter?

I can fully understand that with the vast number of permutations in a single at bat and the downstream ramifications, allowing a user to tweak each batter later would be a programming nightmare. On the other hand each half inning seems to provide 18 neat frames, each of which would be practical for post edit. What am I missing?

I'm left to the discouraging prospect of keying a game twice, leaving scoresheets incomplete, or not bothering to score a game at all. Don't mean to whine, so I guess you can consider this a "new feature request" to prioritize accordingly. Thanks for listening.
