How to score a 6-3 drop throw on first?

The batter puts the ball in play, ground ball to SS. SS fields the ball and throw to 1B. The throw was low and 1B can’t make a clean catch. The ball is drop in front of the 1B and the runner is call save.
Is this a hitters base hit since the call was going to be close or is it a ROE since 1B did not make the clean catch.
Thank you.

It is a judgment call by the scorekeeper. If you feel that had the first baseman caught the ball, the runner would have been out, then it has to be an error either on the first baseman for not catching the throw, or on the shortstop for making a bad throw. If you feel the runner would have been safe even had the ball been caught, then it is a single.

Does IScore give the short stop an assist on the error like it should? I haven't had that situation yet - just scored my first game today and it was a blast!

The current version only asks for the player who committed the error. We will add support for specifying an assist in an upcoming release.
