I want to be able to view both cumulative stats for the year and individual week's stats. I also make this available to players and parents on our Iscore hosted website.
This is a fine method if this is how you like to see it. The key is to use leagues very liberally...again you can apply as many leagues as you wish.
In your original post, you mention a couple times "eliminating" leagues. I'm not sure if this means you deleted them or what. I would not delete leagues ever (or really anything else in iscore). Use leagues to filter things.
Here is an example of what leagues you might use:
2012 ALL
2012 FALL
2012 SPRING
2012 Spring Week 1
2012 Spring Week 2
2012 Fall Week 1
2012 Fall Week 2
So, for a spring, week 1 game it would have the following leagues:
2012 ALL
2012 SPRING
2012 Spring Week 1
So, sorting by league 2012 would show this game and all other games from 2012 regardless of spring or fall.
Sorting by 2012 Spring, would show this game and any other games for just Spring 2012
Sorting by 2012 Spring week 1, would only show games from that specific week.
All leagues are select-able on the website, and you can set what the default view is.
For 2013, you could set up all the same leagues with 2013 designation.
Here are the leagues I will use this year (and have been pretty much repeating these for 3 years running now), which may spur some other ideas:
2013 All Games - All Games from 2013 - also my default league on my website
2013 Home - Can view all Home Games
2013 Away - Can view all Away Games
2013 League I-80 Division Game - Can view all I-80 West Div games
2013 League I-80 League Game - Can view all I-80 games
2013 League AABC Game - Can view all AABC games
2013 Non-League Game - Can view all non-league games a group
2013 Tourney #1 - Each individual Tourney gets assigned so that they can viewed as a separate tourney
2013 Tourney #2 - Each individual Tourney gets assigned so that they can viewed as a separate tourney
2013 Tourney #3 - Each individual Tourney gets assigned so that they can viewed as a separate tourney
2013 All Tourneys - All tourney games get assigned this so that I can view them as a group
Trending - Last 10 games - I keep the last 10 games assigned to this league
So, a tourney game for us might have all these leagues:
2013 Tourney #3
2013 All Tourneys
Trending - Last 10 games
2013 Non-League Game
2013 Away
2013 All Games
Hope this helps.
