Is anyone actually using these spotlight webpages?
I can't seem to get into the edit mode. I use the login and settings button, but the page never goes into edit mode. It never gives me a login error. If use the wrong password then it tells me "Invalid", when I use the correct password, it flashes a white screen, then goes back to the webpage "non-edit" mode.

Yes, many people are using them. As noted in the response to your previous message, if you email the info to support@iscoresports.com, we can take a look and see what is going on.

I do use player sites, but much less frequently than team sites.

One tip with iscore web pages is to make sure the admin and guest passwords are different. Try changing the admin password on your device to something 100% unigue and try again on line.

Also note, you may find a couple minor feature differences in team sites and player sites as they evolve

I was wondering if anyone uses the Player Spotlight websites in the following manner. My son's team does not make team stats available to parents. This is the coaches decision. I usually email out individual stats to each player's parents during the season. I was thinking of getting the parents that wanted it a player spotlight for those kids. Then each parent could log into their own spotlight page and see their kid's stats without seeing stats for the team. Is this workable? I assume my admin password would apply to all of the Player Spotlight websites. What about guest passwords? Can they be different for each Player Spotlight? Is there an easy way to make screen settings the same for each website?

each player spotlight page can have its own unique guest password... Keep the admin password private for yourself and share one off individual player spotlight passwords. all spotlights would populate with each device export. export once - populate many. nice time save feature but comes at a cost $/site.

that said, i think the bigger point at hand is the "philosophy" of different teams/coaches we have had on the board before. .. to share or hold private player stats. I of course believe in open book stats and scorebooks, but know that is 180 opposed to many coaches.

If a coach is in camp of not sharing team stats, i suspect one off player stats not their favorite idea either.

We also know stats are best used in context, in context with the level of play and others. without context 400 avg may be good or bad great or average or poor.

I'm with opening up the books also. For the good coaches, it should not be a problem. They can explain in the few cases why they don't bat the lineup based solely on BA or something strange like that. My son's coach is very good and bats a reasonable lineup. He likes the stats but uses them appropriately. In other words, he uses his eyes also. He just doesn't want to have to explain things to parents. His team. His rules!

That said, he doesn't have a problem with one off stats as long as they are stats for only that parent's kid. You are correct in that they must be used in context. At least with one player's stats, the parents can look at their kid's in the context of change over time.

What is his position on the availability of the score book itself.. the game record? To me that is most valuable, to have a documented version of what happened. (yes it opens up debate for hit/error/FC, WP / PB) . I often find faded memory and selective recall of what did and did not happen in a game.. especially the middle game of the day.. in a long tournament, all blurs together.

I also post on my team site some caveat text like.. Stats are not stand alone, and best used in context with live observation.

Turns out the page name was giving the server some issues.

He doesn't really have a position on the scorebook itself. No one ever asks to see it but him and a couple of the other coaches. I've gotten some pushback in isolated cases about how I scored something (hit/error/FC etc...), but overall no one really questions things.

I feel if a player looking at a long term effect for their efforts, then they need to display those status.
