Merge Websites

Post by devonclara » Fri Dec 07, 2012 6:50 pm

When I was asked to score for the team I purchased a website at the request of the coach then was informed that one of the dad's had also purchased a website for the team. The coach wants these merged so that there is only one site and all info is in one place. How do I do this? Is there a program that I can run to merge these without loosing information?

Thanks,

We don't have a way to "merge websites", but you can merge the games into a single website by using data sharing. Use the data sharing capability to copy the games to the device that is associated with the site you want to use from the second device, then do an Export from that device and the games / stats will be combined.

Here is a link that describes data sharing in more detail:

@devonclara

the process FTM describes "data shareing" is very straight forward. Although generally not used to merge "Two purchased sites".. it is exactly the same steps many of us who have multiple devices (phone, ipd, andorid, ios) to score games do to "consolidate" games to a single master device and then option export to the "team web site".

if you are not already familiar with data shareing, once you learn it you will find it only takes only a few minutes to transfer multiple games. a whole season can be done in a half hour.

abbreviated How to...
both devices should Option > export first ,
need to physically be at the master device which will receive and hold all the games
need to have in advance and availble the CustomerID# of the secondary source device .
do options >data sharing > get from web database and follow on screen instruction.
you will transfer game by game, only games NOT on your receiving device show up on the list
the only other small trick is to make sure you map players over correctly ,
remember to option export when done with all to update your team web site.
