League roster
League roster
Is this doable?
Is it possible to import with CSV a full leagues player roster ( approx 700) players
And use the drag and drop feature to allocate those players to each team?
If not CSV some other type.
I am thinking about our draft time .....and all the typing involved.
We would already have the players names and any other info required from our online registration
We use our own website ,and not one of the commercially available sites.

Re: League roster
You can import team rosters on the Admin Website from delimited data. Log in to http://my.iscorecentral.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; with your customer ID / password, add a new team, and there is a Batch Add option from there to add players. So if you wait until your draft is complete, you can create the teams and then import each into iScore through the Admin Website.

Re: League roster
I wonder how many leagues realize how versatile the iscore tool is.....
this works as you directed above....but I ran into a glitch
cutting and pasting from an excel file ...it will only add 2 players, the top player in the list and the bottom player...I was trying to add just 5
if I type the five names ,it works,if I then copy and paste the typed 5 names a few hundred times...it also works.
Any Idea why it would not work copying the names from columns in an excel file?....even if I renamed the columns to FirstName LastName....same outcome.
Heres my goal........and I fully realize this is beyond the scope of iscore....well kinda beyond the scope
The registration form I have created online spits me out an CSV file,it would be split into approx 8 different divisions totaling approx 7-800 players,I can make it spit me out the respective players for each division to seperate CSV's,and can name the columns FirstName LastName ...if required
I am thinking that it should be doable to either import the CSV ( the CSV is produced by gravity forms from a wordpress site )......or cut and paste the players from the CSV into the batch add tool on a team by team basis...this all whilst the draft is going on ......live.
Phewww ...after that all the kids are split into teams I can then share this data with each respective division/team ...all using iscore and all our data is the same ,and then usable on our website.
we just need player name first and last, the rest is unimportant...each scorekeeper can add this in there own iscore....
if something like this is doable I may be able to persuade the association to switch to all ipad scorkeeping...which is my second goal, and third goal is to be able to use all data on the website.....which I can do no problem.
Thoughts?

Re: League roster
you describe having "cut and paste" issues.. did you try importing the CSV file as described here... http://iscoreleagues.com/iscorewebsite/ ... _stats.php
iscore is designed as a scoring tool not a registration or player draft tool.
you can import multiple teams quickly using the described method, but requires having multiple CSV files. ..
i.e split the teams in CSV files BEFORE importing to iscore..
Use your spreadsheet to do the heavy sorting
so for say 800 kids you may have 60-70 teams and hence 60-70 files to import. not one.

Re: League roster
It seems like your data should work as long as it is formatted as described in the Batch Import page. If you can send us a copy of the data to support@iscoresports.com, we can take a look to see if we can find why a copy/paste is not working.

I fully realize this...but you know what,my thinking and idea works, this is what Im doing,I created a form for registration with fields called FirstName LastName .......I filtered my form to only include these 2 fields...imported the CSV into iscore onto a specific team that I created on the website.................these players are now all choose-able to any team I create.........hence I now have iscorebaseball league and drafting system...it works, but I only tried with 5 players.............dont see why it wont with 800.iscore is designed as a scoring tool not a registration or player draft tool.
Its draft night,we all sit around table with ipads...and draft away........this app worth wayyyyyy more then 10 bucks
FTM I will send you the specific CSV in which it would not work....and see whats up.
