ERA Calculation when ROE

Post by mgirtz » Tue Sep 11, 2012 7:04 am

Two questions - first, in the iScore Baseball program, it appears that a ROE runner who reaches home counts against the pitcher's ERA. True? Also, if that is the case, is there any way to adjust the ERA so it is not hurt by batters who ROE?

Thank you for your assistance.

No, a batter that reaches base on error is not included in ERA. A runner advancing bases CAN still be included as an earned run, but a batter that reaches on error will not be counted as an earned run.

you can also manually override the earned / unearned stats from the game info screen post game. generally iscore gets it correct, but as some of the decision making is judgmental, there are times manual over ride is appropriate.
