Importing Multiple Teams into iScore BB via Admin Website

I have 8 teams that I would like to import into iScore Baseball. Is there a preferred structure for the CSV File? What fields are important in what order, and are there any fields which are not intuitive that I should include?

Put as many rows of players as you want in the following format:

FirstName LastName Jersey# Position Batting Bats Throws

Only FirstName and LastName are required.
The others are in the order most people have data for.
Position can either be the position # (1 = Pitcher, 2= Catcher, etc) or abbreviation for the position (1B = First Base, LF = Left Field, etc).
Batting can be: Y = Yes, N = No, D = DP, F = Flex.
Bats and Throws can be: R = Right, L = Left, B = Both

For example:

Joe Smith 5 2b y r r
John Doe 8 rf n l r

This would add:

#5 Joe Smith as a second baseman in the batting lineup who bats right handed and throws right handed, and
#8 John Doe as a right fielder not in the batting lineup who bats left handed and throws right handed.

FTM - am I correct in my understanding that there is no way with this format to skip a field?

i.e. if I want to set the batting to YES, but dont know the positions.

Since it isnt comma deliminated, for example, I cant see a way to let the system to know to skip the position field and read the next value as batting field.

If there is not a way to do this, I think position and batting should be switched. In youth ball, you rarely know the positions (or even care to track them for an opponent), but you know they are all batting.

If you put an invalid value for a column it will in effect skip it. So if you don't know positions, you can just put an 'x' in that column for example, and still assign the Batting field.

Thank you. Can you verify that because I am only loading players I don't need team information? Or should I load players in separate files (by team)? Even better . . . is there a way to include a field for the players "team" so that they are uploaded by team? Or do you have to do that as a separate action after the teams have been established?

You batch load players by team.

Either add team from the site or go into existing team on the site, and batch load players from there.

I have set up Teams and I also have created rosters for each team containing only first and last names (e.g., 2012_WhiteSox.csv). I have tried to import the players. I choose import and next to CSV file I select "choose file" and go to the location where the csv file is located and select it. After I do this the file name appears to the right of "choose file" for a split second but then disappears and no file selected is there. What am I doing wrong? I am using Office 2011 for Mac. Thanks .

The import area you are on is for importing stats data from external systems.

To do a roster import, go to the Teams tab, and either select an existing team you want to import a roster to, or click the "Add Team" button to create a new team. Then click the Roster tab, then the pencil/paper icon to edit the roster. Then click the "Add Multiple" button and you will be given on screen directions on what is expected.

Thank you FTM. I have 1 remaining issue. When trying to import players I accidentally created a came called season stats which shows up under the games tab on the admin website. Is there a way to delete this game?

If you delete it from your device and then export, it will delete it from the website as well. If you are not seeing it on your device, go to League Manager and make sure the All league has a check next to it, and then check Game Manager again.

If it is actually on the Scorecasts tab, you can remove scorecasts by following the instructions here:
