Drop Down League Menu

Is it possible in the drop down menu where it says league to have multiple years? For instance we've had our team for 3 years and just wondering if there is a way on our website to look back to compare the previous years stats.

Also is there a way to export stats to Excel? I would like to be able year to date stats for players vs last year. We've played 16 games so far so would like to see how we were doing as a team at this point in the 2011 season.

Thanks,

Mike

You can create a league for each year, and assign the Games and Team to the leagues you create, and they will then be available to select.

For the exporting to Excel, when you email the team stats, it emails for any games in your currently enabled leagues, so it is nearly the same answer. Create a league called "2011 to date" (or whatever you would like), then assign the games to that league and run your team stats report for that league. Here is a link that describes league usage in more detail (and has a link back to the forums with even more info):

thank you very much
basically i think you are saying that i can go back to my 2010 and 2011 teams and add them to the 2012 league and I will have them in the drop down menu?

That is not what FTM is saying, exactly.

The first question is what approach have you taken to creating new teams each year?

Have you created an entirely new team? Or, have you maintained the same team, adding new players as necessary?

If, the former, then these stats will not be available on your current teams website, as they are team specific.

If, the latter, then you could have all of your leagues for this team available, including one for 2010, 2011, 2012, etc.

Thats what I was thinking...

So, if it is critical to see the stats from previous years on the website, you could:

Create a 2010 League and 2011 League for your 2012 Team.
Create one dummy game in each league.
Just make one pitch, then Misc->End Game

Now go into stats for each game and override them with the cumulative stats for the 2010 and 2011 season respectively.

Drawbacks to this approach...
You will need to add thhe former players (if any) not currently on the team. (you can use the inactive feature to "hide" them)
You obviously dont have the hit charts or game by game detail for those stats.
No past game results for those years.
In your device, you run the risk of viewing cumulative stats that include double counting of 2010 and 2011 seasons if you inadvertently select All Leagues, when you didn't intend to.

I have always taken your approach to new seasons as well...keep each team separate. But, if your turnover is minimal, given the new active/inactive feature, I'm starting to think that one team from year to year might be the better approach. This would allow you to maintain your historical stats on your website in full detail.

Hope this helps...
