Pitch Speed and Location

Post by huntermaz » Sat Mar 17, 2012 1:49 pm

Looking at using iScore once again to score games was saw here there is a new feature since I last used it for iScore to calc pitch speed but I can't seem to get it to work. How do I use that feature. Then is there a way tp look at pitch location after a game for a pitcher? It would be nice to be able to see pitch location of all pitches for a game or season. Thanks

To use the pitch speed calculator, first make sure you have set the Mound Distance correctly on the Options screen for the game (you can tap the button in the bottom right of the main scoring screen to edit your mound distance).

To time a pitch, place your thumb in the "pitch area" of the scoring screen and hold it there until the pitcher releases the pitch. Lift your thumb when the pitch releases the pitch, then tap back down when the catcher catches the ball (or would have caught it). iScore when then calculate the speed of the pitch and set it for you.

To view pitch locations while scoring, there is a little "speckle chart toggle" button on in the bottom left of the pitch area. Post game, if you email yourself the Scorecard, page 3 has the pitch speckle chart for each pitcher.

also, timing pitch speed and marking location can be done independently. Once you release and press to get the speed, you can locate the pitch to a more precise location, if needed.

The Android version does not yet have this feature. It is on our enhancement list for a future update for Android.

I have the android version for Kindle Fire. How do I get the pitch tracker to change to scrolling list of previous plays. The game will start with the previous plays, but change to the pitch tracker, which does not work on the android.

The pitch tracker works on the Android. You just have to tap where the pitch was, tap the type of pitch, and scroll the pitch speed bar to the speed of the pitch. (You don't have to track everything about a pitch... just what you want.)

To toggle between the Pitch Location and Pitch by Pitch listing, tap the Balls / Strikes label in the upper right corner of the Kindle screen.
