Help needed to remove hit, change to error.
Tried finding the answer in earlier posts with no luck. Actually have 2 situations from a game scored Friday.
1. Dropped third strike, catcher throws out runner at first. The pitch by pitch reads "#4 *** **** reaches base due to a dropped third strike. #4 *** **** is forced out at first.
I must have put in dropped third strike, reached safely, then forced at first.
this give #4 a hit and an error to the catcher when it was just a dropped third strike and a thrown/force out at first by the catcher.
How can I change this in pitch by pitch? I cannot see any option to remove the "safe" at first. Any help is appreciated.
#2 is even more convoluted. (gotta love scoring baseball) Runners on first and second. Hitter hits a slow roller down first base line, first baseman grabs ball and fires a wild throw to second baseman covering first base bag. I give error on the throw to first baseman, hitter safe on error. Runners advance (and I put "on error" by mistake when it should be fielders choice) and then everyone advances another base on the throwing error (scored by me). One run scores and we now have runners on second and third. When I tried to remove the first advances (should have been by fielders choice, not error) I managed to lose one runner completely on the pitch by pitch. I had not exported my games yet, so there is no backup available. Any suggestions on how to get the runner back and rescore the play?
Until I correct these situations I have to many errors charged to one person.
Loving this app though, the only errors I'm having are the ones I input wrong.

Re: Help needed to remove hit, change to error.
For #1, if you entered safe at first originally, you will not be able to change that safe entry to an out entry. The player would still have a strikeout, not a hit, but when entering this type of play, be sure to select the "Out" option for Dropped Third Strike to mark the batter as out initially. The two options at this point are Undo back to that point in the game, make the change, and re-enter the scoring for the game. Or you can go to Game Manager, select the game, select Stats for the right team, and override stats directly by tapping on any of the values an increasing/decreasing the value as appropriate for any stats that are wrong (and you can add a note to the pitch by pitch for the play saying what happened)
For #2, runners do not advance by fielders choice... a batter can reach base by fielders choice, but from what you have described, the batter reached on error, and the runners advanced on error (fielders choice does not even come into play). In this scenario, you can enter the final base each player wound up at, and give the reason as Error on First Baseman... it will only give the first baseman a single error when multiple runners advance on the same play. It sounds like what may have been done wrong here is to try and mark the way runners advanced to each base instead of just entering their final base, and then multiple errors get assigned (since it is entered as multiple plays). Again, the best fix is likely going to be just editing fielding stats in this case to reduce the errors as appropriate, and entering a note on the play saying what "really" happened.

Re: Help needed to remove hit, change to error.
Thanks for the quick reply. I'll do as advised and try to be more careful with my input. Sometimes the excitement even gets to the scorekeeper.
Re: Help needed to remove hit, change to error.
In this user's case, is there a way for the scorer to indicate that the runners advanced one base by the hitter then the next base by the error? Or must the runners advance all the way to their final bases for only a single reason - for example, error? Although the first method seems the fairest, I'm not even sure that this method is an accepted scoring practice. Any advice, here?

Re: Help needed to remove hit, change to error.
You can enter different reasons for each base if you would like that level of detail, but it would require entering as multiple sequences. First you would enter everyone advancing one base, and the reason why. Then tap the lead runner, and it will prompt your through each runner again. Repeat until done.
For the most part, just entering the final base and the reason is good enough. There is not a stat that is kept for "batter advanced a runner from 1st to 2nd base" for example, so that level of detail would just cause extra input for the scorekeeper with no "reward" for doing it.

Re: Help needed to remove hit, change to error.
Thanks ... That's what I thought. However, wouldn't having the hitter reaching on error then the runners advancing an extra base on error cause 2 errors to be recorded instead of 1?

iScore is smart enough to know that if you enter runners advancing on an error by the same player during the same play it only count as a single error.
