starting a new season

I used iScore last year for our high school team and the new season is about to begin ... Do I start an entirely new league (called 2012)? It looks like if I do that, I will also have to retype all of the player names that I thought would carry over for last year.

I guess what I'm asking is (1) what is the best way to start a new season for one particular team and (2) how do I re-register in order to create a new website for the 2012 team?

There have been several threads on this topic. Try this one or do a search for "new season" to read some of the suggestions. You will not need to re-enter players whether you start with a new team, new league, etc.

creating a new team is easy, adding existing players is as simple as picking from a list. that should not take 10 min. That has traditionally be my favorite way to do it. just add the year to team name... e.g. Stallions 2010, Stallions 2011, Stallions 2012. and go from there.

the complication comes in if you have a team web site subscription. traditionally I have recommend a new one each year http://iscorebaseball.com//Stallions" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; 2010, http://iscorebaseball.com/Stallions" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; 2011, etc. (still just 20$ a year).

FTM has recently enhanced iscore to tag players as "inactive " and they won't show up in game line ups or on team web site stats if you don't want them to.. FTM's intent is to enable you to keep the same url team web site year to year for high school teams or travel teams that have the same core but add/drop a few each year.

I have not fully tested the new feature but it could simplify things.. . I encourage others who try this to provide their feedback

however you do it, the old or the new way, if you learn how to use league filters, you always retain lifetime stats and can filter how you want.
