Import/Export

Post by Stadtusquo » Tue Jun 14, 2011 6:27 am

A friend of mine recently purchased iScore, after watching me enjoy the APP. I have exported Games/Teams to her device, but we were wondering if there was a way to export "Players". She wanted the Stats for her Son, to be on her device, that i have recorded over the past 2 years. my guess is that she needs to get all of "those games" that he played in. Is there a way to do this without having her to Import all the games?

you should be using Options Data Sharing by Web data base (NOT export / import).

Yes, you need games played in as games are the core thiing that generate activities that generate stats.

How to..
provide the source device ID to your friend,
From the source device Option > Export
From the receiving device Option > Data Share > From Web Database ..
enter device ID bring in the desired games with player. (may have to scroll down)

Thank you! So, if we do a data Export/Import via blue tooth will that be different than getting from my admin site???
I think it will be super fast and easy for her to import from my site, anyway. Just wanted to know the difference, if any.

Thanks again...

Doing over bluetooth would bring over the same data. Oddly enough, the web method is often faster than bluetooth.

blue tooth and get from web get same result.

as a default i recommend the web for a couple reasons,
1) generally faster,
2) eliminates headaches often encountered pairing devices (eg bluetooth does not work iphone to ipad. it does ipad to ipad and iphone to iphone but not ipad to iphone. ( i am not sure on android to iphone because of the varieties of android devices)
3) physical logistics.. you can do the transfer at a distance and at different times by web, blue tooth as you know requires physical proximity at the same time. web lets you do separately and at different times .

of course blue tooth has the advantage at the field when together and without internet.

I have just purchased Iscore and when I try to access Iscore central it says that I have to export data before. I have exported data and it shows that it was done successfully but still no luck. Any suggestions?

If you have exported, then it is most likely that you are mis-typing the login information.

@rivercats - got o Options -> Admin Website on your device and make sure a password is set. If it is not, you will be able to set it from that screen.
