New to Iscore

Post by Patacc » Thu May 05, 2011 7:54 pm

Hi All,
Just down loaded the software and in the process of going through the training videos. I am looking for tips for when I am scoring a game from the bleachers. I'll have my son's team roster, but I won't have the batting line up. As for the other team, no idea of player name and the batting order. Is there a quick way to enter the batter as he is coming up to bat???

Thanks, and feel free to share any other tips for a newbie.

Welcome to the board, Patacc! You'll definitely want to read the posts pinned to the top of the FAQ forum and watch the training videos. Once you've done that, start practicing to get familiar with the app. Undoubtedly, you will still come across questions that you can't answer. For those, you can go to the relevant forum and do a search to see if it has already been asked before--I have found that most of my questions have already been asked, specifically with regard to how to use iscore to score unusual plays. If no luck there, then just make a post in the forum and you'll undoubtedly get a response as the boards are monitored by people around the world, nearly 24/7.

The more you use it, the more you'll like it. Enjoy!

A tip for the lineup is to look in the on deck circle for the next batter. At the start of the inning you can get both lead off and on deck batter while the pitcher is warming up.

Email your son's coach the stats after the game, once he sees the benefit of iScore scoring he may give you the lineup before the game and the other teams lineup.

echo turboAg and DanMcc advice.. Spot on

to the specific Q. that is a very common scenario.

my tip, use quick roster pre game, and set the player first name to P (less backspace later), and last name to blank, and the player Jersey = 1,2,3,4 = batting order. Then as they come to plate (or bater circle) .. us " Misc > Show starting line up " brings up the line up, you can enter the jersey number (5 seconds). The program creates an internal id for each player, so you can edit the name and jersey number pre, post or during game. a second tip, after you have all the names and jersey info you can get, go back to Misc > show starting line up, one last time, and hit option (bottom right) and "copy line up to roster". this is great if you play a double header with them.
