Seem to have purchased Ipad only software, need Iphone

Don't have iPad, How do I get software to work on my iPhone?
When purchasing apps from the apple app store, (particularly if purchasing from your computer and iTunes) you have to be careful you buy for the right platform (iPhone/itouch, or iPad). In my experience when searching the app store from a device iPhone or iPad not iTunes) apple identifies the device and defaults correctly to the device.
I am afraid the only thing you can do is re buy and download the app from your iPhone app store and be sure you get the iPhone version this time
