Scorecard Question (pitches)

The scorecard that is automatically generated has 5 small boxes in the lower right corner of each at bat. There are two small boxes on the top line and 3 small boxes below. I don't know how to interpret the numbers and or shadings in these five boxes. I read the scorecard pdf explanation and I am more confused than before.

The two boxes on top are for strikes. The three on the bottom are for balls.
The strikes in the boxes will be shaded different colors to denote strike swinging or foul ball.
A strike swinging is in a pink color and the foul ball is in a yellow/orange color. If the batter hits foul balls after the first 2 strikes, those are denoted with small x to the left of those boxes. The numbers denote the pitch count.
