First Games This Weekend - Practice Scoring?

We have our first game this weekend and I would really like to practice scoring before gametime. I have read the tutorials, seen the videos, but what is the best way to practice scoring without screwing up my app, stats, website, prior to the real games?

When I am done "practicing, I want to make sure I can remove all remnants of my efforts. you think I could DVR a Pro Spring Training Game, add my teams, a dummy league, dummy players, etc. Then just delete them all when I'm done? Any suggestions?

I keep a test team 1 and test team 2 in my team manager at all times. I use it for purposes of the board now but initially used them to practice using the app. You could set these teams up using quick roster and score a make up game or watch a spring training game and score without worrying too much about exact roster.
After I got a feel for the app I then took the youth team scorebook and scored the previous season (fall ball), which was a huge help on the learning curve.

Agree with dan.. And score a pro game, with the sound off. Would add, simulate the type of info you expect to get.. If you expect to not get opponent info, simulate Quick roster and fill in name and number as you go, if you will be rotating players in the Fiedler a bunch, simulate that. Etc.

Another echo of agreement here. Scoring old games off the scorebook is a great idea. Pro games can help you get a feel for the app and scoring at game speed (which is actually pretty easy with iScore). Scoring off old scorebooks (especially if you can remember some of the game details) will help you get used to the normal issues you deal with in youth baseball like multiple errors, lots of runners moving all over the place on what should be simple plays, etc....

Petro guy is spot on.. Youth ball (baseball and fast pitch) seem to have many more taps and oddities than pro ball.

if you are the official scorekeeper, I would also suggest having someone keep a paper scorebook as a backup for a couple of games while you get the hang of it. There is a slight learning curve, but once you get it, it is very easy to keep up.
