Leagues question

This will be my second season using iScore and I'm having a bit of a problem with the league manager aspect of things.
I created a league called 2010 last year and tagged all my teams and players that played last year in that league. Now, I've created a new league called 2011. I've tagged the players that played in 2010 and will be playing in 2011 as being in both leagues. New players are only tagged as being in the 2011 league. Players that played in 2010 but are not playing in 2011 only have the 2010 league selected in their league info.
In the League Manager, I have only the 2011 league selected. On my team info page, I have only the 2011 league selected.
When I say I want to score a new game and go to select the starting line-up for players on my roster, all players that have ever played on my team show up as possible players. My expectation is that players who do not have 2011 checked will not show up. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks.

Your expectation sounds right.
Here is a link to longer description on leagues

Make sure in league manager you only have 2011 on, all others need to be off unchecked. I bet this is it. Especially all, and default must be unchecked.
You will be tempted to delete players to 'clean up' the list ...I recommend you do not. Players I want to hide, I Put in a special league called hid, and I leave it off.
Teams, players games, you want to see in 2011 need to have the 2011 league.
No bugs reported on iOS 2.85 version in league filtering. It should work

Yep...I'd looked at that post.
When I go to League Manager, I see an option to add a league and then: (1) 2010, (2) 2011, (3) All. There is no "default" option listed.
-- 2011 is the only one that has a check mark next to it.
When I go to Team Manager --> My Team --> Leagues, I see: (1) 2010, (2) 2011
-- 2011 is the only one that has a check mark next to it.
When I then say I want to score a game and select my team, I'm presented with a roster of possible players.
All players who have ever been associated with my team are listed. If I select a player from last year who is not on this year's team and then select the League option, I see: (1) 2010, (2) 2011
-- 2010 is the only one that is checked.
Why is he showing up as a possible player for this game?
FYI, iOS, 2.85.101

Quick note. I take it back...not all players who've ever played on my team show up. Just some of them do. That makes things even more confusing. I cannot see a difference on the player cards (when I go to Player Manager) for the players that show up vs. the ones that don't. Could it have something to do with editing rosters on the web vs. editing them on the device? When I add a player via the web are they automatically assigned to all leagues no matter what?
Also, this "default" thing mentioned by OhioTex has me very puzzled. Why don't I see it? Is this an iPad vs iPhone anomaly? I am using an iPhone, iScore version 2.85.101.

The DEFAULT league is one that gets created automatically, and when you create players on the Website, it always puts them in the DEFAULT league. It sounds like maybe you edited the dfault league and called it "2010" instead of creating a new league for 2010. If you do an Options->Export and email us your customer ID to
support@iscorecentral.com, we can confirm if that is the case, but it sounds like it is.
If you email us, we can see what we can come up with as a workaround for this if it is the situation.

I'm sure you're right. I guess I renamed "Default" to "2010" and went forward.
Once I discovered that I could enter players via my.iscorecentral.com, I did that almost exclusively as it's much easier for me to type on a keyboard that on my phone. I will send the requested email message. Thanks.

sounds like default league may be the wildcard, interesting...
will be interested to see what FTM says after seeing your data
(thanks for the nice detail reply, it helps to trouble shoot)

Got a reply from support last night after they looked through my database. It turns out that players stay listed on team rosters even if they're not in currently selected leagues until you delete them from the roster. Deleting them from team rosters does not delete them (or their stats) from the database. I'd been very reluctant to delete any players from the team roster because I was afraid that would also delete them from the database.
