App. Price
I read two reviews re:this app. One was very positive, the other stated that after trying to input a lineup at a Mets game, the app asked for another $19.99 before it would allow it. He was very negative and nasty about it. Is this true that the total for the app. comes out costing $30.00? I am Team Mom/Scorekeeper for my little girl's Little League Softball team and would love to utilize my iPad and this app., but not for $30.00. Can someone with more experience let me know?
Thanks!

Re: App. Price
The total cost of the application is $9.99. You can score an unlimited number of games for an unlimited number of teams forever for that one price. If you read through the rest of the reviews (click "All Versions" instead of just "Current Version"), you will see that the reviews are very positive for iScore.
That particular user was talking about a specific add on that is optional --- the Major League Baseball rosters. This is an add on that allows you to get updates for all Major League baseball teams with statistics, roster changes, and daily lineups updated every day. It is not required to purchase this add on to score Major League games -- it is a convenience add on for people that are interested in this sort of data daily.

Re: App. Price
I thought it might be something like that, just wanted to make sure. Thank you so much for the response.
Re: App. Price
Welcome to the board...4everteam mom
You got FTMs official response. As a user, let me add that is 100% on the up and up.
The MLB data, is purely optional purchase. It is valuable time saver for folks who want to score MLB games, (daily line ups and stat updates for all mlb teams for that price is a real value) but that is not needed at all for a youth team.
This app is a great for youth team scorekeepers, imagine, if you score the game on the device as you go....immediately after a game you can email all your coaches a PDF copy of the traditional scorebook for the game, and a spreadsheet of the specific game stats (batting, fielding, pitching) for your team and your opponent plus an updated season to date spreadsheet of your teams stats. All within minutes and only a few clicks (and an Internet connection).
In interest of full disclosure, If that kind of functionality for your youth team sounds valuable. The app is addictive.
there is a small learning curve to use the app, the online videos cover most all of it in very quick videos. And the community here is pretty responsive to help answer and solve questions. Plus the company FTM provides great support and has continued to update the app, with great new features and enhancements.
As you mentioned cost, to be in full disclosure, once you become addicted, you and your teams..you may ask the question, can I post all this on the web. The short answer is yes, you can take the base app output and integrate into an existing web site you have on your own (no rights restrictions, and no fees from FTM).
Or you can purchase through FTM their team web site subscription option for 20$, again an optional purchase. But with their version you can create a nice simple team web site (in less than a half hour) that is highly integrated with the device so that you can update it easily after every game with only a couple clicks. The team site gives you password protected pages with sortable player stats and links to game box scores, play by play replays, and scorebooks and more.
If scoring youth league games is in your future, this is the best electronic scorebook value I have found...I hope you find likewise and become a participant in the community and forum

Re: App. Price
Thank you so much for all the info. I went ahead and purchased the app last night and I'm going to do a little practicing. The draft isn't until next weekend so I have a little time to get acclimated. I'm excited to figure out all the cool things I can provide to the coaches and parents. Thanks again!
Re: App. Price
I am glad you took the plunge. Enjoy.
Practice games are a great way to get familiar with the program as is

Re: App. Price
Oooo...I'll check that and the videos I've read about as well. Thanks again.
Re: App. Price
Then you may want to look at some example web sites...
Here is a menu of user examples 'showcase' sites... Real users provided these..
http://iscorebaseball.com/gallery/index.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Here is a quick link to a plain vanilla version of the team site ... The thunderstix
http://iscorebaseball.com/thunderstix" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.
(seriously, zero customization, up in five minutes with what ever team data you have on your device)
Here is a link to the blaze who customized their color scheme (easy) and home page (medium hard) http://iscorebaseball.com/blaze" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. (best viewed w/ flash)
Here is a fast run-through to see the power and fun of the device outputs and team sites..
Go to one of the sites Above blaze or thunderstix
Click on the statistics tab and see all the stats for the team, season to date
Click on a player name and drill down for that players stats by game. (nice and intuitive)
Click the upper middle button "hit locations" ... spray charts by player. Cool.
( your device and free admin site has them for your opponents too)
Next click on the game tab, and click the different links under views for a game
click.. Scorecard, then box score, then play by play, and finaly iscorecast.. Wow
All of this is available in the base app by email and spreadsheet for no more than the base app price... the 20$ team site just organizes and displays easily for others to see. (can password protect any page). And most importantly, is super easy to update.
Once you learn to score games, going from the device to posting this kind of information on the web site is truly, three simple clicks away (email, export, synch).

Yes I am addicted, and tierd of snow..ready for spring
