Creating player midgame?

Post by lumikey » Mon Jan 17, 2011 12:21 pm

I am scoring a baseball game and want to bring in a relief pitcher substitution. However, I did not create enough players for the start of the game (just the opening lineup + 3 bench players). Is there anyway to create a player midgame and then sub him in? I have gone to Team Manager and made the relief pitcher on the team roster but it doesn't update to the game I'm currently scoring. Help is appreciated!

yes you can add a player to a team roster when in a game... misc> show starling line up > add player

since you said you had already created the relief pitcher in team manager, as long as he is in the same league that is enabled, he will show up in the list of players available add to the game..

(FYI - on the relationship of team rosters and games.
when you start a game, the 'game line up' is pulled from the current 'team roster' at that time.. after that they are 'independent', because later on a team may pick up a player or drop a player and that should not impact historical game line ups.. that is why after game creation, the 'team roster' becomes independent of the 'game line up' . after initial game set up both game line up and team roster can be edited independently ).
