How many games can you score with a fully charged battery?

Post by Gregg » Mon May 18, 2009 12:25 pm

We have lots of upcoming tournaments. We play 6 inning games. Any experiences on how many games you can score on iscore with a fully charged iPhone? With 3g ? How about in Airplane mode?

Here is a good thread where people have reported their experiences with battery life:

It looks like 2-3 games should be possible based on feedback. Some users have found add on batteries that can make it last even longer.

With the upcoming release of v1.70 (or 2.00 if we decide to call it that), if you enable iScorecast or use Twittercast frequently, it will use more battery.

We have struck a deal with a company called iPWR to offer their external battery which is compatible with the iPhone (1st Generation, 3G, and 3GS), and iPod Touch (as well as any iPod) for a special price.

You can find more information on this external battery on our website here:

What (if anything) keeps this battery from working with original iPhones?

It actually does work with 1st Generation iPhones as well. I will edit the original post to include that fact. Thank you for catching that omission.

FWIW
I scored 6 games with a single charge on Sunday. I don't think I would have had the battery to make it through the IF game. Each game was an hour 15 minute time limit and no game finished early by run rule. I was scoring the games on a second generation iPhone (3g) with airplane mode on. After each game I would turn airplane mode off and export my data and we checked for missed calls and text messages.

I forgot to check the brightness level, but I think it is about 1/3. It is the wife's iPhone so I don't have it with me to verify that at the moment. DOH!
