7 run max

Post by boracay » Sun Nov 28, 2010 2:29 am

Here's the situation: one man on, already 6 runs scored, max per inning is 7, batter hits homerun. the man on base and batter are scored to make it 8 runs but the official score is only 7. how do i only record 7 runs but at the same time not deprive the boy who hit the home run his HR? Thanks.

Another question is how do I record an out which is caused by crossing the plate?

This is a tricky question because there is not a rule that we have seen about what should happen in this scenario. With MLB, the rule is that a batter only gets credit for as many bases as are required to score the winning run (not quite the same as a run limit, but the closest thing we've seen). What you are doing is taking the "run scored" away from the lead runners in order to give credit to a batter that came later. That does not really seem right either.

That being said, there is a way to do what you want in iScore. Before entering the home run, you can select each base runner, and advance them to home as "Run Not Scored". Then enter the Home Run. Then use Misc->End Inning. If you have already entered the home run, you can go back to the Play by Play listing for the game, and change the runners to Run Not Scored for the ones that you do not want to count.

For your second question, what is the situation where an out is recorded for crossing the plate? You can always use Out->Other.

thanks. but the remedy now deprives the runner on base of a run, right? sorry but just asking.

Boracay.. You can also over ride stats if you want to finesse the stats while keeping the runs at 7.... give which ever player you want an additonal run scored or rbi or hr. If that is important to you and acceptable practice in your league.. Obviously how you handle the situation will be up to your judgement to accomadate the constraint your league applied to limit runs for the inning.
