Bases loaded 1-2-3 DP

Our boys got a nice double-play this afternoon that left me scratching my head to figure out the right sequence for scoring.

Bases are loaded with one out.
Batter hits a grounder to the pitcher.
Pitcher lobs it to the catcher who tags home for a force out on the runner at 3rd.
Catcher throws to first for the double play.

Here's how I scored it:
In Play -> Fielder's Choice
Ball went to the pitcher
Next
P-C-1B Done
What happened to the runner on third base: Out -> Force Out
What happened to the runner on second base: Held Up at Third
What happened to the runner on second base: Held Up at Second
What happened to the batter: Out -> Double Play

The scorecard shows the batter out between 1st and 2nd which isn't really right.

I thought about it later and did it this way in a test game:
Out -> Ground Out
Ball went to the pitcher
Next
P-C-1B Done
What happened to the runner on third base: Out -> Double Play

That looks right on the scorecard but my taps are out of sequence with what actually happened (though I'm the only one who would ever know).

I think the first approach is more correct since it was technically a Fielder's Choice that they managed to turn into a Double Play but I'm bothered that the scorecard shows the batter/runner out between 1st and 2nd rather than on his way to 1st.

Ideally I would like to have been able to do this:
Out -> Double Play
Ball went to the pitcher
Next
P-C-1B Done
Out -> Double Play

But 'Double Play' isn't available until after the first out of the play is recorded.

So... am I being too OCD about the sequence of events? Which alternative would *you* choose?

see my post on the enhancements board...

i had both a 5-2-3 DP and a 4U-3 DP that I could not correctly score today.

Yes, I read through that thread before I posted mine. Your first scenario is almost identical to what we had happen. I decided to post over here in case anyone in the future runs across something similar. Between the two they should find one of the conversations :-)

For anyone looking, here's the Enhancements thread we're talking about: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1751" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
