PINCH RUNNER - how to put in a pinch runner

We just realized (thanks to a customer) that we left a "Pinch Runner" button in the program when you click on a runner. This button does nothing, and is going to be removed for the next release. The correct way to put in a pinch runner is covered in our YouTube video #2 here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w6UeanYIgmo" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false

Basically, you click the Batter Icon (meaning you are making a change on offense), then click the player you want to put in the pinch runner for, then select the player you want to have run for that player. It is the same as doing a substitution. When you click Save, you will see the selected runner in place of the runner you are putting the pinch runner in for.

Sorry that the Pinch Runner slipped in there... hopefully it does not cause too much confusion.

Thank you.

Hi
Instead of deleting the button, couldn't you make it work so that when someone press the pinch runner button, the same substitution window comes up, with the runner number already selected? At least for me, it makes more sense (intuitive) clicking on the runner to pinch run for him/her.

Would that be much trouble, from a programming perpspective?

I see how to enter a pinch runner in a sub situation, but our league has a rule that allows a pinch runner for the pitcher or catcher. The purpose is to speed up the game so the pitcher and catcher can be ready to go at the end of the inning. In this situation the pinch runner does NOT take the pitcher or catcher's place in the lineup. In iScore there doesn't seem to be a way to put an active player in as a pinch runner. Is there any way around this?

We have had a few requests for a "courtesy runner" feature, and have it on our list for future additions.
