View iScoreCast games on iPhone via new free app PlayByPlay

Post by deadstick » Wed Apr 28, 2010 3:09 pm

Hello,

I'm an avid iScore Baseball user and happen to be a developer as well... I love the iScoreCast ability of the program but was fustrated that I couldn't view this on an iPhone. So, I wrote a program called PlayByPlay which allows just that in a format similar to the play-by-play output you see in iScoreCast. You can view completed games or games in progress from any iScoreCast customer ID.

Just provide the iScoreCast customer ID to the program, pick the game you're interested in and enjoy...

Search for "PlayByPlay" in the AppStore or here's a link:

http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/playbypl ... 42220?mt=8" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Disclaimer:

The PlayByPlay application has no affiliation with Faster Than Monkeys or iScore. Please do not send support queries about this application to them. It is written by an iScore customer who needed a way to view iScoreCast games via the iPhone and is provided free of charge to iScore baseball users.

ditto. :!: installed. big thanks for creating and adding to the user community.

for others...
This free app allows someone on another iphone, itouch, ipad, to see the play-by-play description of iScoreCasted games (live or archived) you score. It is not a flash view of iscorecast like you get on the web, but analogous to a broadcasted view of the pitch-by-pitch, you get on the scoring device. Very handy and easy to use/share.

The app loads easy, and is simple to set up and intuitive to use.
you provide it your customer device ID and then it populates a menu of
any game you have iscorecasted (live or archived) . choose the game, and you are done..

one tip for new users, the log is posted in reverse order.... if viewing an archived game, scroll down to the bottom for the first pitch the last entry (on top) is "game over".

thanks again

Outstanding Deadstick! Thanks for the app. I really like the ability not only to check my own game but other friends and relatives who use Iscore as well. :D

Deadstick... Just what I was looking for... I have just started scoring on iscore and many of the parents have iphones and travel quite a bit... great way for them to catch up without needing flash...

Thanks again...

Not sure where else to post this, but when using the app on the last game I scored, I noticed that it mixed the teams up. It had one of our players advancing to second base when we were actually on defense. I've checked the phone and the iscorecast web site, and the data is correct. Any ideas?

Yes I've seen this myself occasionally and am trying to track it down, but it "rights" itself next play.... The game data feeds are private and undocumented so I'm bound to miss things though FTM are aware of what I'm doing and allow this use with restrictions for now which I'm appreciative of....

DS... I was just messing with this and was wondering if you could put a refresh button on the screen when you are in the game. I noticed i could a accomplish a refresh by tapping Games and then tapping the game again, but thought it might be easy just to add a refresh button in the top right.

thanks again for the app for the iphone, my parents are digging it...
