A couple of operational questions...

Hi FTM,
I have scored three games on my iPad now, and other than an issue with the play-by-play chart covering the pitch chart in the first two (covered in another thread) I am very happy with the iPad version. A couple of pretty basic questions, though:
* I do not see where I can access notes in the iPad version. It is not where I could find it in the iTouch version (scroll the line-score over to the right to access notes). It's probablys somewhere, but I haven't found it.
* Where are the new fields for entering umpires, field location, weather, etc., and how do you access them?
* If, like me, a scorer beging the season with an iTouch and has a website associated with that device and version of the app, how do I make the iPad version become associated with the website? Right now, I have to send game data to the iTouch, and then export from the iTouch, in order to update the website correctly. This works fine, but it would be easier to transfer data from the iTouch to the iPad one time, and then associate the iPad with the website, and skip the data-sharing step in the future, just exporting the iPad games directly to the website.
* I set up an admin site as soon as they became available, on the web rather than though my device. It allowed me to use my e-mail address for login (rather than device/customer ID), but now when I am trying to get data from the iTouch to the iPad, it won't let me access that database using the e-mail login, and on the device, it seems to think I have not set up an admin website. Not sure if I should set up another admin website this way, or whether that will screw up the export to function that now updates my team website. Please advise.
Thank you.

The notes are now always available from the bottom toolbar --- actually much more efficient than the iPhone/iPod touch version. It is a little pencil drawing on paper icon on the bottom toolbar.
For the new fields, go to Game Manager, select your game, and scroll down the Game Info screen. You will see a section called "Game Details" where you can enter the information. We do not have one specifically for umpires right now, but there is a generic "Notes" field that you can put the empires in for now.
Anyone who has a team website, and would like to switch the "source" of that team website to a new device, just send us an email at
support@fasterthanmonkeys.com with the Customer ID of the old and new device, and the URL to your team website. We can make the switch for you.
Each device has its own "Admin Website" --- they are tied to the device ID. If you would like your email address transferred to your new device, just like with team website, if you send us the customer IDs, we can do that transfer. For most users, the easiest way to get ot the Admin Website is to look at the information in Options->Admin Website, and it will tell how to get to the Admin Website for that device.

Thank you FTM for the answers to my questions. I will send an e-mail this week to change the source of my website to the iPad.
On the Admin Website, I understand how they work. My problem is that the one I set up through the web (in the first days they were available) is not recognized on my device, which wants me to set up another. I cannot transfer from the iPad to the iTouch without either getting access to the old Admin site (which lists all games I scored on the iTouch already), and it won't recognize it by the e-mail address I use to access it on the web, and doesn't think I have one when I use the device ID.

If you do an export from both of your devices, you should then be able to do the data transfers, and should also be able to access both the Admin Websites with the information seen on the Options->Admin Website. Exporting is what updates the server.

I'm sure it's come up - but it would be great if you could tie in multiple devices to one Admin Website. I first bought the iPad version and is working great. Then I bought the iPhone version for the times that I wanted to give a live update (since my iPad is only WiFi) but it only does it to it's own account. So the people loging into the team web site won't be able to see the live scoring, only through the iPhone devices ID.
I wonder if it would be difficult to create a "cloud" like apple does with iDisk where every device shares the same address book, calendar, etc. That would be really useful.

We will not have a way to allow multiple devices on a single Admin Website. The Admin Website is intended to be the administrative site for each device (maintain data for that device). It is not intended for multiple people to log in to.
The iScorecast server allows multiple people to log in to view your iScorecasts. It accesses the data in a way that is optimized for viewing by many people.
Team websites are also intended for viewing by multiple people (we can scale the team website services up as needed).
You can always use Data Sharing to transfer games between devices if you score on one device, and want to make it available on another (or if you have a Team Website or iScorecast data attached to a device and want to make it available with the rest of the data.)

Ok...thinking out loud here.
How about allowing a device to enter the customer code?
This would "trick" the server into thinking the device is the same one between an iPad and an iPhone. Then set a question like iDisk where it asks you whether you want to update the specified data or replace.
The difficulty is how to merge the data from two devices like in my situation. I can export, but only to each devices account. How do I then transfer or share the data among the devices without deleting any data?

We added Data Sharing to version 2.60. This allows you to transfer individual games and rosters between devices. See more information either on the device itself by going to the "news" page (clicking the version # on the main screen), or by visiting this URL:
http://iscorecentral.com/baseball/dsfaq.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I beleive , you can transfer data between two devices, w/o deleating .. Just import game/player data as "new"..an do not 'merge'.. you can assign the imported info to a special league to keep it seperated also. .. you can rename the game to be more descriptive if needed and can merge players later if you find desirable. nothing has to be deleated or overwritten or combined, unless you want.
Say two people scored same game on two deivices, you wanted to have both on your device, and compare and decide later which to include in your teams stats. you could import your friends version, name the game something descriptive, and not merge the players or teams, (you can merge them later if you want). You can assign the imported game to a temp league, and decide to include or not in team stats based on league
selections... you can later deleate one or the other game versions if you want.
