Printing a Spray Chart

Post by DanLEllis » Thu Apr 15, 2010 8:31 pm

Is there a way to print a hard copy of a hitters' spray chart, for scouting purposes?

The easiest way to do that right now is to view the Player Card, then click the Hit Chart tab. Press the "home button" (circle at bottom of device) and the power button (top of device) at the same time. This will put a copy of the hit chart in your Photo Library / Camera Roll. You can then email it to yourself and print it out.

We will likely come up with a way to get hit charts for an entire team in a single email in the future, but for now, this should help you get hit charts for individual players.

dumb question, so I thought I'd bury it in this thread... On the spray chart, there are numbers in the circles. What do these mean? I would have thought they meant the order of at bats, but if I go "walk, hit, K, hit" the numbers in the circles are "1 & 2"

Sorry if this is obvious, but would have assumed the circles would have said "2 & 4"

Thanks!

They are the hit # in the game. With the walk and strikeout, there is no associated "hit chart", so those at bats are skipped for the hit chart. In this case, the 1 would be the first hit and the 2 would be the second hit. If you had outs, they would have a hit location so would have a line drawn with a circle as well.

The numbers in the circles are the number of times the ball was hit.
So in your case:
BB - Not put in play
Hit - Ball put in play, circle has 1
K - Not put in play
Hit - Ball put in play, circle has 2

They are in sequential order from the list you have.
