Sharing data between scorekeeper's device and coach (resolved, pending user follow up if needed)

Post by CasCrawford » Mon Oct 24, 2016 12:00 pm

What's the easiest way to share data between the scorekeeper's device and the coach's? Our scorekeeper uses her iPad during games, but I have an Android device. I can't imagine we are the only team who has a dedicated scorekeeper using their own device.

Is there a best practice as to how best to use the app in this scenario?

We thought it was going to be easy to share this data back and forth, but it's proving very frustrating. With the website/database in the middle, this should be a simple export/import or sync. We tried using the Discover option and having the coach enter the scorekeeper's device/customer ID, but no dice.

Help would be appreciated!

You will want to use Data Sharing as described here:

@cascrawford . It is very easy once you get the steps down. As explained in the Link provided by supporr. Feel free to post back if you have questions as you go.

The data sharing by web is needed to go from android and ios. ( ios devices can also bluetooth if in physical proximity

Thanks! We were able to get it to work.
Problem I have now is that I have stats that were not deleted when I deleted a game I had entered manually.
How can I fix this?

That does not happen. When you delete a game the stats for players in that game are removed from players cumulative stats

. If you can elaborate more on your steps/ situation ..we can troubleshoot with you

That's what I expected to see. I think I may have figured it out. I'm looking at all this in the app on my phone. I think what's happening is that the fields are getting truncated on the smaller device and I was confused by the date shown as I couldn't see the game name.

Is the date listed in the players' card screen the date the game was created or the date the game was played (scheduled date in the game manager)? Since some of the games were added later by transcribing paper scorecards I think this is causing the confusion.

For example, I have a game that was created on 10/22/16 that was actually played on 9/25/16. In the player card on my small screen the date shows 10/22/16. I noticed it's the same on the website if I look at the stats there. The dates shown are the dates the games were entered in iscore not the dates they were played (scheduled date in the game manager).

Is there some way to change/fix that so it shows the game name or the scheduled date from the game manager?

Go to Game Manager, select the game, and scroll down to set the game starts date. Then use recalc when viewing stats for the game and the game start date will be set on the player card for that game.

And Yes, The "game name" is an editable field

By default game name is
"date vistor team name at home team name".

The date in the tittle name is the date you set up the game unless you edited it.
(FYI - The date in the stats rows in player cards is off the game start date. )

To change game title name.. on device> Iscore app > game manager > select game > type over/edit name at top of page (then hit done/save)

FYI for IOS when done typing the name change you need to hit done (return key) on key board to hold the change .( Small glitch in software)
