Did I screw up or is this how it is supposed to be?

Post by PhilliesFan218 » Wed Apr 29, 2015 8:05 pm

Hello all,

I put a pinch hitter in for a pitcher with no trouble, but the pinch hitter's name remained in the #9 batting spot on the scoring screen lineup, even after I entered a new pitcher after the end of the half inning. Also, no subsequent pitcher's name appeared in the "old-fashioned scorecard" screen either, although their stats did appear below the scorecard. So:

Should the relief pitcher's name appear in the scoring screen lineup, and;

Should relief pitchers appear on the scorecard or scorebook-like screen under the name of the starting pitcher?

Thanks!

Offensive substitutions and defensive substitutions are handled as separate operations. In most youth ball, they use "free substitution" for defense and all players bat. Keeping offense and defense substitutions separate also allows a scorekeeper to score "double switches" without having to worry about having inside information to know what actually took place.

See the following link in the iScore manual for details on doing substitutions:

The pitchers will appear on page 3 and 4 of the scorecard PDF when you email that along with their pitch charts and pitching stats.
