New Season - Redundant Players

I scored my 8U team last year and this year they moved up to 10U. When I import games it doubles all the returning players. With this being 2 different age groups and the transition from coach pitch to kid pitch, I wouldn't mind if it recognized the teams as 2 separate teams. I've tried making the 8U team listed as 8U and re-import and it imports the players and keeps the 8U name. Also, after the import doubles them up, I have went in and deleted the ones I didn't want including the coaches and later it automatically re-imports them. Any advise? Thanks, Charlie

I have found importing teams sometimes causes duplicate players. Easiest way to correct is to merge the duplicate players. You can still keep the teams separate. I create a new team each year for my personal team as you don't always have the exact same players and it is an easy way to track who was on the team each year. For opponents I do not care so much to keep separate teams for each year.

The Sport Ngin site must be creating new unique IDs for the players this year instead of using the same IDs from last year. You may want to ask them if there is a way to reuse the same IDs.
fyi... be careful with the Merge option when importing from Sport Ngin ... be sure to merge the old player into the new player so the correct ID is maintained (i.e. select the new player in the Left list, and the old player in the right list). Sport Ngin is very finicky about the data being exactly right when it goes back into their system.

@Charlie
Sport ngin and iscore won't like to hear this.. But I found sport ngin data retrival and sync not worth the trouble. That said it has been about two years, when they launched I offer sport ngin my assistance in helping them work out the bugs. They were non responsive, did not get it. (iscore as you know does respond and does get it). I finally gave up on sport ngin and enter rosters manually and do not try and sync stats.
I also don't sync stats because I want to limit to minimum what stats ngin knows ..
I also felt the need to reply as I like your name ( i am a Charlie too)
