Yes. Just like baseball subs are in until another substitution is encountered.

You begin with the starting line up defensive positions
( can edit/set the initial defensive positions in pitch by pitch in the first event called 'game starts' > edit starting line up)

That defensive alignment is held constant until you make a substitution /defensive alignment change later in the game. ( pitch by pitch by pitch > select event> substitution edit...)

That is correct... it subs him in from that point to the end of the game, or to the next pitcher being subbed in if another pitcher came in after that point.
