below the first two files, the component and the stats leaders module, boxscore plugin will follow later (still got my password hardcoded in).

Manual:
- install two files below.
- set team name, password default league (click on options in joomla toolbar)
- now you should be able to add the iscore menu types and the stats module to your site.
- change logo.png in the /components/com_iscore/assets/photos/ folder to your own
- add 525 by 330 pixel pictures of the players. filename must equal [player guid].jpg.
- note that the component is still caching weekly, change the line $cachetime = (60 * 60 * 24 * 7); //one week in the /assets/chaching.php file if you want to change that. (or press clear cache button manualy from the component)

When I try to get to your site (http://uat.twins4.nl" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) I'm prompted for a password.

I have a site for my son's travel team that I developed last year using Joomla! 1.5 (http://hilltop7u.info" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;). I embedded the roster, games and stats in a wrapper, so imagine my delight when I saw your post. But, alas, I can't get it to work. Won't install on the 1.5 site (receive a "no valid XML file" for the component and module install. On the test 2.5 site I'm working on, it installs but I can't get any data to display. I installed the component and filled in my team name and admin password - both the straight information from my Admin Website info under Options and with my "short" name. I can't select a league in the component Options.

I set up menu pages for the roster and games components but all I see are the headers in the component - no data.

I installed and published the stats module for the batting average. The module is displayed, but the following error message is displayed:

Code: Select all

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/hilltopb/public_html/modules/mod_iscore/tmpl/default.php on line 11
I know this isn't a Joomla forum, and you're not required to provide tech support, but any thoughts on these issues?

Hopefully Jasperbhouse can respond as we do not know anything about the code he has created.

Hi,

1.
You should fill in the team name as you would use in http://www.iscorebaseball/yourname" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (in my case http://www.iscorebaseball.com/twins4" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; i have to fill in twins4, case sensitive). Did you do this or did you use the shortname from iScore?

2. I did indeed found a bug when trying to set up the component from scratch with the leagues selector being empty, to work around fill in the team. press save and close. press clear cache and go to options again. it should now show the leagues.

3. Make sure you enable API from the settings by specifying an API password (this is the password you should use)

Let me know if this helps

Indeed its a 2.5 component so wont work on 1.5 Joomla. uat.twins4.nl was my test site now offline, http://www.twins4.nl" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; is now the live site thats why you wont be able to view the uat site

Jasperbhouse,

Great website! I'm using Joomla! 1.5 on my son's travel team site http://www.hilltop7u.info" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; but I'm testing 2.5 and trying to pick a theme. Currently I'm using the wrapper method of displaying the information from iScore, but your component and module are appealing.

1. I am using the same username as my http://www.iscorebaseball.com/hilltop7u" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Not sure what you mean by short name from iScore? I even tried it with my Customer ID from the Options screen.

2. Still nothing in the Leagues - I'm guessing because I can't get logged in.

3. Set an API password at http://www.iscorebaseball.com/hilltop7u" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and tried that with both usernames as above.

I'm going to try a fresh install of Joomla 2.5 on my test site and try it again.

For the user name, for you site, we would assume you should be using "hilltop7u" by itself for Jasperbhouse's integration.

Well, I feel like an ass.

In step three above, I forgot to hit "Save" on the bottom of the Settings page after adding an API password. No wonder it wouldn't work...operator error.

Okay, off I go to play!

Jasperbhouse,

I got the demo site up and running: http://hilltop8u.info" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; so I was able to install your component and module. I really like the component portion that allows new menus to be created pointing directly to the iScore team site. But the formatting is way off, especially on the individual statistics pages. It seems to be breaking the theme, perhaps because of the width? Is there somewhere I can adjust the tables?

Hilltop,

There are a couple of CSS files in the component, which you could try to change. Let me know if this helps!
