Quoting from note 4 under rule 14.10 in the NCAA softball rule book:
4. Unlike scoring for a sacrifice (bunt/hit), the batter's intentions are irrelevant for a sacrifice fly.
Kind of simplifies it for the softball scorekeeper. Runner scores on a caught fly or line drive anywhere on the field of play, fair or foul it is a sacrifice fly.
So the question is, to avoid the confusion between softball scoring and baseball scoring, does this forum need a Scoring Questions [Softball] category?

NCAA is definitely a different rule than MLB in this case. Here is the relevant part of the Scorekeeper Handbook for NCAA Softball:
SACRIFICE FLY
SECTION 10. A sacrifice fly is credited to the batter when, with less than two outs, the bat-
ter hits a fly ball or line drive that scores a runner regardless of where the ball is caught (in
fair or foul territory) as long as it is in play. If a fair ball is dropped, credit the batter with a
sacrifice fly if the runner would have scored with the catch.

There is a Scorekeeper Handbook for NCAA softball? I had down loaded the NCAA rule book and had been looking mainly at Section/Rules 14 for Scorekeeping. Is there a difference?
