Post by forkball31 » Sun Aug 01, 2010 9:46 pm

iscore charged pitcher with three earned when they were unearned. what I can do to fix this??? leadoff single followed by fc with error first runner moved to third next doubled in one run putting runners at second and third with none out then ground ball back to pitchers runners hold. next hitter strikes out two outs followed a single which scored two runs next hitter grounds out to end the inning.

This has been documented a few times, but just to clarify this situation. iScore does not currently distinguish between runner "advancing on error" (which could mean the run can still be earned) vs a runner being safe "because of an error" (i.e. runner should have been out, but was not because of the error).

In the case of a batter being safe because of an error, iScore will always get the Earned Run calculation correct. In the case of a runner advancing with error selected, iScore currently assumes the runner advanced on an error, but would not necessarily have been out had the error not occurred. Therefore, iScore still leaves runners eligible to be earned in this case.

In a future release, we will allow distinguishing between the two types of errors.

In the next release, we also allow overriding stats which will allow you to reduce the number of earned runs for the pitcher. (We are in final testing of that release now, and hope to release it very soon.)
