Printing spray charts

Post by napes65 » Sun May 23, 2010 7:41 am

Is there a way to print the spray charts off of the iScorecentral teams page without the green field background or at least fade it out some more? I find the green hit lines very hard to discern on the printed page. It would be real nice to have this hanging by the dugout door for the coach who sets the defense to be able to quickly scan it.

Agree that this would be very helpful. When you print it is very difficult to read.

Modified so field is black lines only. See if everyone thinks this is better. For anyone that still wants the color view, add &color=1 to the URL that comes up when you view the hit charts.

Not a big preference here. It might be easier to have the &color=1 tag in the normal URL and then if someone wants B&W they can delete it. That would be easier than trying to remember what the tag is.

M2C.. i liked the B&W version better. nice and clean. but also agree with petro... easier to remove the &color=1 than to add.

Changed to include "&color=1" by default... if you remove that or just change the "1" to something else, you will get black and white background.

Worked great.

What logic drives the chart order? Does not seem to be Alphabetic, jersey number, roster order or line up order. perhaps player creation date order? What order makes most sense? Alphabetic or roster?

Also re vote to Add legend. I know you wanted as many player charts on a page as possible, but feels worth spending one player box worth of space on legend. As is how many fit on a page. ? Seems like plenty for most teams

As long as OhioTex is adding requests to this section, I would like to see the team name printed on the charts also :)

We just made it alphabetical.

The problem with adding a legend and team name is space on the page. Right now, we absolutely maximize the space used by the hit chart boxes --- you can see exactly 16 per page which uses the entire page, and then a new page is started. If you guys all think it is worth losing a player per page or shrinking the hit charts somewhat to make room for the team name and a legend, we can do that.

My vote is with either option (shrinking size slightly or dropping a player) to get the legend and team name.
