California tie breakers
California tie breakers
Any way to put a player on 2nd (last batted out) prior to the start of an inning for the tie break method that many tournaments are using?

Re: California tie breakers
While scoring, click the Misc->Tie Breaker button. It defaults to the standard California Tie Breaker (putting the last batter that was out on second base), and allows you to update for local rules (some leagues play with slight variations on ths rule).

Re: California tie breakers
Thanks for that. What if the game starts with the tie break? We have been rained out and they will be starting the game with the tie breaker rules in place. I am not sure if it happens in the first innning, but if it does, can I account for this?

Should work fine. You can use the tie breaker rule at any point.

Re: California tie breakers
I tried that, but It does not put a runner on second as there is no last batted out

Re: California tie breakers
esb, I believe last out is the default, but you can override that to place any runner you want on 2B to start. You will probably have to use that to start the game, as there is no "last out" at that point (I presume you would use the batter at the bottom of the order, and then after that, if you still have to manually enter the runner each inning, you would use last out of the previous inning).
Re: California tie breakers
Can you add the last three outs? We played in Grapevine TX this past weekend and had a tie breaker. They called it California rule with a Texas Twist.
Last three runners/outs on base and one out.

Re: California tie breakers
I would score it as follows, the only catch seems to be how to avoid an out stat for the lead off batter.
Start inning with Out, more, other to get the one out. Go to Misc., the tie breaker screen and touch 3rd base, pick your runner, touch second and pick, touch 1st and pick then put your batter at the plate. Press save.

Re: California tie breakers
This sounds like a new option FTM could consider implementing. The addition of a "Rain Delay" or "Pause Game" option would pause the game and allow it to be revisited another day. The last out would still be recorded and the tie breaker could be set up to play. Just a thought.
Cheers,

An addition/alternative to danmcc suggestion, to try and handle the out issue. instead of giving the leadoff batter the out, just 'remember the out count' and end the inning using 'misc end inning' when required. You can use notes as a reminder, starting with 1 out. Etc
