Fielding Position Stat Question

Post by trentrg » Mon Feb 29, 2016 8:35 am

I have two questions regarding the AP1, AP2, etc stat table on the team website.

Question 1 - we substituted a pitcher 1/3 into an inning. This table shows that both pitchers pitched a full inning instead of showing that one pitched 1/3 and the other pitched 2/3. Is there a setting that I need to change so it reflects that or does it just round up to a full inning?

Question 2 - we were the visiting team, we were behind when time expired so we didn't play the bottom of the fifth. However, that same table shows kids having played 5 innings on defense when we really only played 4 defensively. Is there a way I can fix that?

Thanks!

1. The AP stats are "appearances". Both pitchers appeared in the inning. If you are looking for the number of Innings Pitched, there is an IP stat in the Pitching stats section that takes the number of outs they made into account.

2. When the inning is terminated using Misc -> End Inning or Misc -> End Game, all defensive players are credited with an Appearance (AP) for that inning. If the game ended naturally (reached # of scheduled innings) with the home team ahead, then the visitor defensive players would not be credited with an Appearance for that inning.

Thanks for the quick response.

1. I see IP, is there any way to get innings played for position players broken down by the 1/3?

2. Is there any way for me to 'fix' that or a workaround to show the correct number of innings played defensively?

A workaround to fix the defensive innings is to change your number of innings for that game so that there is no forced end game but a natural end game after the last out. To do this after the fact, undo the last play, change the total innings number, then re-enter the last play of the game. The game will automatically end with the last out.

On another note, is there a report or place that I can find innings played at each position broken down by the 1/3 inning (if applicable)? Does it reflect inning on the bench anywhere? We are 9u and still rotate quite a bit and try to keep things as even as possible. Thanks

There is an "Outs Played" at each position. You can enable that stat (it is not visible by default, but the data is collected). OP1 is outs played at pitcher, OP2 is outs played at catcher, etc.
