Maxpreps

Post by coach1 » Tue Mar 31, 2015 3:05 am

I found an old post (2012) that said to get stats into maxpreps you have to go to iscore admin, download to maxpreps and export the file is this still the only way or can it be done straight from iPad app? If so, how I can't find it.

This is still the right way to do this.

Is there a reason we don't have a better method of doing this? This is a huge reason MaxPreps is very successfully pushing [the other scoring option -- name withheld so my post doesn't get deleted or edited] to high school programs over iScore. They are fully integrated into MaxPreps so almost no effort is needed to keep you high school teams updated. But to update via iScore, you have to download each individual game in the admin page, rename it to something actually useful (opponent & date) since they only download as stats.txt, then push each one up to the game on the MaxPreps website. So unless I'm missing something this is the only way to get iScore stats into MaxPreps and it's quite a chore IMHO.

Can we get some tools to help at least?
- Option on admin site to download all games in a selected 'league' [so you could do all your season's games at once] &
- Download with a meaningful filename

Adding these 2 would save a TON of time for those of us that prefer iScore over the other app. Should be some very simple programming on the admin site to accomplish.

This is the first time we have had the suggestion that downloading multiple files at once would be helpful. We assumed after scoring a game, you would download that game and upload it to MaxPreps. Are you saying that you are waiting until you have scored several games before uploading them to MaxPreps?

Yes our coach prefers not to have our stats up on MaxPreps during the season (easy scouting for other teams). It's only required that HS teams post scores on MaxPreps during the season. Stats are not needed until the end for end-of-season awards etc. Maybe we are an exception but it's a problem I run into each year. Be interesting if others do it this way. Even if you could just have it create a custom name (Opponent + date for example) as the download name that would be great. Thanks!
