One question about the Player Spotlight.
My assumption is that when presented with game data, I would only be presented with games in which the spotlighted player actually played, thus providing the backup data for the stats on the statistics page.
I am looking at one game where the spotlighted player never entered the game. Not really sure that should be part of the "spotlight".
What is your thinking behind including games where the spotlighted player never played? Makes sense from a Team Website perspective but to me it does not make sense when spotlighting a specific player.

Re: Player Spotlight - Spotlighted Player did not play in game
We list every game where the player is on the Lineup sheet for the game (thus, was available to play). If you do not want the game listed because the player did not play, you can remove him from the lineup for the game.
To do that, go to Game Manager, touch the Game you want to remove him from, go to Pitch by Pitch, touch the "Game Starts" row, then click Edit for the starting lineup. In there, you can remove the player from the lineup. (This does not remove him from the Roster for the team, just from the Lineup for that game.) After doing this, if you export your database again, the game should not appear on the Game Listing on your Player Spotlight site.
Be careful not to do this on a game he actually did play in, or that game would not appear either.

Re: Player Spotlight - Spotlighted Player did not play in game
I would like to request that you reconsider your trigger for the Player Spotlight. On our High School team at least all of the players are listed on the Roster for every game (32 games this season). With that many kids on the roster, most will not play. Only a few will actually see time on the diamond.
For me this is a Player Spotlight not a game spotlight or team spotlight. What should be keyed off of is whether or not the player actually saw time on the field either as a fielder, hitter, pinch runner, DH or something of the sort so that you could actually present the reader of the Player Spotlight website could actually see what the spotlighted player did in that game.
Removing the player from the game roster for all games he did not play is a pain especially when you, iScore that is, knows whether or not a given player sees playing time.

Re: Player Spotlight - Spotlighted Player did not play in game
Just one more thing on this subject.
I was just looking at the "Statistics" page on the player spotlight and see three sections
1 - Batting Lifetime
2 - Pitching Lifetime
3 - Fielding Lifetime
Interestingly the Pitching lifetime shows 2 games but Batting and Fielding shows 3 games however the stats are all "0"
Due to the number of players on the Roster, he did not Field or Bat in any of the games but did pitch on and two thirds of innings total. The stat on the Bryan HS game shows .2 of innings pitched but should be .67.
Again, this is a PLAYER spotlight and I would like to offer that showing stats of other players is not what I was thinking this would be used for. When I go to this Player Spotlight, I only want to see information relating to the spotlighted player, all other information is irrelevant.

Re: Player Spotlight - Spotlighted Player did not play in game
The ".2" designation on pitching is 2/3 of an inning. This is standard notation you will see on sites like ESPN and MLB. It will either be ".0", ".1", or ".2"... as an example, here is a link to Jared Weaver on mlb.com. You will notice under the IP column he has several ".1" and ".2" entries.
For the stats, we only show stats of the player that is being spotlighted. We do show all games they were in the lineup for, but you do not see any other player's stats. We will look into what it will take to make it so it only shows games the player actually entered the game.
We will also look into making the # of games represent the actual # that the player played in a little better.

Re: Player Spotlight - Spotlighted Player did not play in game
I look forward to the updates. Thanks
On the .2, no worries. I guess I have never noticed that before. I thought that .33 would be on3 third of an inning and .66 would be two thirds of an inning but hey, I learn something new every day.
thanks for the great work.
